Back again

We are back from a trip to Michigan.  I hosted our first family reunion with my family since my Dad's passing, it was weird it being just us kids without any parents.  We ended up with 43 of us out of 58 so that wasn't too bad, of course it went so fast, we also were able to see some of my hubby's family too, before making our way back home yesterday.

I don't have a card for today but I did manage to make my inspiration card for tomorrow before I left so I will be posting that tomorrow, now off to do laundry, and if the grass dries out we will be doing yard work today, you know it is spring when you have to mow twice a week instead of just once.

See you tomorrow,

Connie

Birthday Flower

By the name of this stamp set it is suppose to be used for saying your sorry, but I thought it could be used for a Birthday card too, so that is what I went with, hoping her expression isn't sorrowful.

I colored the flower on a piece of white cardstock and used dimensionals to give it a little dimension.  The background papers were given to me by my secret sister at church.  They came in a pack, the yellow layer has embossed flowers, and the aqua blue was diecut, so I put them together and added the stickles between each flower and the center of the big flower the girl is holding.

David Tutera -- Celebrate A2 Layers ( I think they sell these at JoAnns)
My Favorite Things -- I'm sorry Joline stamp, colored with markers
7 Gypsies -- naked tabs paper
Making memories --  mini metal circle tabs
Taylored Expressions -- many mini occasions sentiment stamp set
Stickles -- yellow

I have a very busy weekend ahead of me, hope you all enjoy yours,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and leave a comment,

Prayers for Lauryn

I have been following Linda Payne for awhile now and was so sad to hear that her granddaughter was diagnosed with Leukemia last month. There was a blog hop for Lauryn and they posted the address of where you could send a card to little Lauryn and this is the card that I made for her.

I bought this stamp set from CKC thinking it might make some fun birthday cards but when thinking of something to stamp for Lauryn I thought, this might be perfect for her to let her know I think she is strong. I pray for strength for the families, I know how tiring it can be to have someone in the hospital.  Boy I hope she likes pink because I went a little overboard with the pink :)

Fun Stampers Journey -- Superheroes stamp set, colored w/markers
My Mind's eye -- quite contrary paper
Spellbinders -- classic ovals lg , floral ovals and A2 scalloped borders two dies
Paper studio -- Washi tape
Memory Box -- Parker upper case dies
Star -- Ginx coaster board, painted with pink distress paint and then added doodlebug, crushed velvet flock
Gem

You can follow little Lauryn on Facebook  Here.  They also have the address where you can send her card on facebook.

I had posted about little Brooklin a little while back when I posted a card I made for her and her family, if you would like to read about her too this is her Facebook page.

It is so hard to see little ones going through so much at such a young age, can't imagine what the families are going through.  Praying God grants healing and comfort for these little girls and peace and strength for their families!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Connie

He is Risen!!

He is Risen INDEED!!   Happy Easter, I was going to post before church this morning but that didn't happen.  I only managed one Easter card this year and I sent it to my Daughter and Son in law.

Cheery Lynn Designs -- Nesting Eggs and bunny dies
Fiskars -- Grass border and cloud punches
Spellbinders -- Large classic inverted scalloped circles die
Stamps 4 life -- postmarks 2 stamp sentiment stamp
Cloud designs -- Rain dots

All the papers were in my scrap basket.  I layered a darker green grass behind the eggs and bunny and then popped up the front grass.  The bunny was cut from kraft cardstock and I used inks and white chalk on the bunny, added a little eye with a black pen.  The front eggs and the bunny also have pop dots on them for added dimension.

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by, I know how hard that gets now that the days are getting nicer :)

More Silhouette cuts

When I had all the supplies for the card I made awhile back sitting on my desk and needed a card for my Great niece who is a preteen I decided to use some more of the cuts Greg made for me on the Silhouette Cameo.  These were made using his idraw program on his Mac too.

I have been really liking all of the little banner dies but haven't splurged on buying them, didn't know how much I would use them so I showed Greg the kinds I liked and he made this design.  I love how he gave it a little extra by giving it a look of string holding the banners on to the main one, of course I tried to put it on with a little curve and since I had dimensional adhesive on each banner it was a little tricky setting it down, I was too worried about ripping it if I tried to move it so I let it be.  Next time I will just put it on straight :)
He also made what I would call a flower, he was trying to make the look of a doily for me since I also said I would like some of those, the center of this is a little smaller than the sentiment I put on top.

Greg's designs on the Silhouette -- Banner and flower
EK Success punch -- circle 1"
Stamps 4 Life -- Minis 4 circles stamp set(sentiment and design around sentiment)
Martha Stewart -- Sans-Serif font stamp set on banner
Teresa Collins -- Carolina Breeze paper

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20
Reflecting today on the price Jesus paid for me.

Wishing you all a blessed weekend,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Christine's Inspiration

Here I go again posting kind of late, been another one of those very busy days and I just had to make myself stop and post.

Today I am sharing a card inspired by Christine  of Christine's Creations.  In this post , she colored on Kraft cardstock and I just love that look, had to give it a try.  My card will be going to my friend that loves the country feel and I thought coloring on kraft paper would be perfect.  I tried to do soft coloring like Christine but lets just say she is a pro at coloring and I am still learning :)  but I do like how it turned out.

Inkadinkado -- Beauty stems from here stamp set, colored w/ pencils
Simple stories-- Generations paper
Spellbinders Classic Rectangles small and Back to basics tags dies
EK Success -- Corner punch
Queen & co. -- Yellow Sunshine pearls
Hero Arts-- Birthday messages stamp set
Bazzill Basics Paper -- Brads

I outlined the flowers and the leaves with a light blue color but in the pic it looks like I went outside the lines with my white pencil.  The butterfly was stamped once and stamped again on cardstock, colored with markers and glued on top.

I sure hope you get the chance to stop by Christine's blog she does Beautiful coloring, she shares her beautiful photography too, such wonderful inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by today,
Connie

So sorry

This is for a cardmaker that I met on line many years ago, a group of us still get together on the weekends on line to catch up on each others lives.  Her son in law has been battling cancer for some time now and he passed away this past week, this is going out to her and her daughter.

Greg asked me if there were any borders that I have been wanting and haven't gotten yet and I showed him this picture over at Stamp TV I just love that border and so he used "I draw" on his apple computer to make this border and then cut it out with the cameo.  As you see he added a little flourish on top so that is a little different, later he made one without if I didn't want that added.  When I found this paper when I went to make the card I thought the style of the border went very well with the paper.

Inkadinkado -- Garden delight stamp set, in black and gray
Teresa Collins -- Carolina Breeze
Spellbinders classic ovals die
Border made by hubby cut with Silhouette Cameo

We have been having terrific weather here the past few days, I have been getting out and doing a bit of weeding until I start to get a bit dizzy, but I am doing so much better now.

Hope you are enjoying some wonderful spring weather this weekend where you are,
Thanks so much for taking the time out to stop by and leaving your comments, I really appreciate that,

Rose Bouquet

Ok I have had this card done for a couple days but this was one of those cards that I finished and just didn't know if I was satisfied with the way it turned out.  Haven't had time to try something different with it so I just decided to post it.

I know this is on a bit of an angle but I wasn't getting a good picture of the roses straight on, they were a bit washed out. This is a 5x7 card.

Stampendous -- Autumn Rose Bouquet, colored w/markers
Stickles -- Frosted lace on the roses
Spellbinders -- Exquisite Labels Eleven
Stampendous -- Birthday assortment stamp set
Paper Studio-- Gemstones
Butterfly and the gems for the trail, I am not sure who the maker is of these.

We are enjoying a Beautiful day here, sunny and warm, the windows and doors are open and I am sitting here listening to the sounds of birds enjoying the bird feeder and the day, just perfect day!!

My hubby has been using an Apple program on his computer to make some borders for me to use with the silhouette, so hopefully I will be showing you those soon :)

Hope you all are enjoying your day and week,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Prayer

There is a family that came to our church for a short while and then their daughter was diagnosed with lung cancer, she is only 3.  I have been praying for them ever since they were put on our church prayer list, and I am just now getting around to sending them a card to let them know they have been in our prayers.   I know how much it means to me to get a card or have someone say they are praying for me, for someone to take their time with God to pray for me means so much and I just want this family to know how many are out there praying for them.

I wanted to do something pink for the little girl but a little grown up for her parents too.

Memory Box -- Verona Bouquet die
Spellbinders -- Labels 37 and grommet tags dies
April Rose -- Papers
Sweet n Sassy -- Jesus Cares sentiment stamp set
Brads

I did all the sponging of the dies with ink while the paper was still inside of them.

Another chilly, rainy day here, but more buds are coming out on the trees and it makes for pretty sights when out and about.

Have a great week,
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and your sweet comments,
Connie

Thanks

My girlfriend gave me a sweet gift for my birthday and she also gave me some papers and card bases that she had bought many years ago when she made some cards.  She said it has been so long and she really doesn't see herself getting back into it so she gave them to me.  I decided to make her a thank you card using supplies that she gave me.

There was no name on any of the papers but this paper almost looked like some DCWV stack I had.  There was also some Mulberry Papers and I decided to try my hand at making flowers with them. I cut them out with the dies and I wanted a little bit of extra goodness so I added some gold glimmer mist to them and then partially dried them with my heat gun and kind of scrunched them up for added texture.  When I went to layer them together it really just looked like a brown blob so I found some netting my sister had given to me and cut that out with the dies and then layered the netting between each layer and used glue dots to hold them all together, finished the centers off with some glass glitter.

I don't know how well you can see it but I did a little scoring above and below the sentiment.

Heartfelt Creations -- Vintage Floret dies
Mulberry paper (flowers)
Shimmer Mist -- Gold
Netting, also cut with flower dies
Memory Box -- Fabulous Phlox die  (leaves)
Cameo -- die cut sentiment

My hubby bought a Silhoutte Cameo.  He liked using my Cricut for some of his artwork but he didn't like that he couldn't use his own drawings with it, I told him how there were machines out there you could do that with and he decided on that machine.  Well during trying things out he asked if I needed any words cut out for a card and so this was his first try of using a font from his computer and he learned how to weld them together together, the first try they were all separate and I told him that it would be neat if it was welded together so he did another one for me.

I went to CKC yesterday, all that looking around and turning around did get me quite dizzy and by the end I wasn't really enjoying myself anymore, but my hubby and I both found some dies we hadn't seen anywhere else and some stamps that were new to us.  I will have to say now that he is excited about using dies in his artwork it has been fun to share this with him.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend,
Connie

ODBDSLC196 and Shirley's Inspiration

I am combining a challenge and my inspiration post today.

Our Daily Bread designs for their 6th Anniversary would like us to use only their stamps on this challenge, now we are suppose to use our favorite stamps, I can't choose a favorite but I do love this stamp, and all the birthday greetings that go with it.  I also bought the die to cut it out, love the look that gives, and it gets nice and close.  You can find out all the details about the challenge HERE on their blog.

Also today is the first and I have an inspiration card too. Shirley does such beautiful cards, and she gives details on everything she does, she is great about sharing things she learns.  Here is a link to Shirley's blog , and the card that I used for my inspiration today.  She did a beautiful job to give it dimension, I didn't go that far, but I did like the colors in her flowers and tried to do the same on my flower bouquet.

I used the antique linen distressed ink around the sentiment and the "doily" square.

Our Daily Bread Designs -- Happy Birthday stamp set for image and sentiment, colored w/markers
ODBD -- Watering can die
Spellbinders -- Decorative Labels one, Noble Rectangles and A2 matting basics A dies
X-cut -- Quilting embossing folder
My mind's eye -- Indie Chic Citron paper
Liquid Pearls -- White Opal

Don't forget to check out Shirley's blog and ODBD for their challenge.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by, I really appreciate it!
