Lighthouse

Little late posting today, have been suffering with pain in my foot for awhile now, my Doctor took x-rays, looks like I have arthritis in my knees and now my foot.  Since I am already taking anit-inflamatory meds for my knees he is trying a different one to see if it helps my foot, he also has me going to a Podiatrist, will see how that all comes out, will be nice to walk without pain again.

I Love this stamp, and I tried coloring it one time and it was a disastor and I haven't tried it since.

Stampendous -- Cape Hatteras Light, NC. stamp
Spellbinders Labels 4 and A2 matting basics A dies

It is so warm out right now in the 60's, but we are told a cold front is coming and it is going to bring strong storms tonight, our ladies group is trying to decide if we should cancel craft night tonight.

Hope all is well where you are at,
Thank so much for stopping by and your comments are very appreciated,

For the Hubby

I won this stamp off of Susan's blog awhile back doing one of her challenges, when I got it in the mail my hubby said well that is cool, and with his birthday coming up I thought I will have to use that on his birthday card, then I forgot to post it his birthday is in early December.

Tim Holtz-- Flights of Fancy stamp set
HOTP-- Ivory Papers and tag
Hampton Art -- Sentiment stamp
Pebbles-- Candy dot
Cuttlebug--  Script Paper Empbossing folder with Distress inks over it

I thought I would show that I made it so he could take out the stamping part if he wanted to.

Went to my LSS yesterday and they had Spellbinders by Heartfelt Creations called Vintage Floret, now I think this is the first time I have bought a die that I have never seen in action before, I just thought it had a cool shape, I have a feeling the next girl card I have to make is going to have a Vintage Floret on it :)

Hope you all have a fun creative weekend,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Sounds like we are going to have another wintery mix on Sunday, hopefully it won't be too slippery on the way to church.  I am almost done with my husbands T-shirt quilt but I am not happy at all how it turned out, my seems didn't match up like I wanted them too and I just couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, he assures me he just loves it but you know how it is when you make something and it isn't just right.  Haven't decided if I will share it or not.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and your sweet comments,
Connie

Oh wow is it even colder today, I guess it is hitting most of the states.  Just heard from my nephew that they don't have school today in  Mid Michigan because of the cold, but my niece in Southern Michigan says they do have school.  I don't think we ever got out of going to school because of the cold, I do remember that we would get a car ride to school on the very cold days instead of having to walk the mile there though.

Hope your all staying warm,
Thanks so much for stopping by,

ODBDSLC137

Our Daily Bread Designs new challenge for this week is to use something old and something new on your creation, you can find all the details Here on their blog.

Now I don't know how old something has to be, to be considered old, but the Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 1 came out in 2009, and so I am considering that my old item. I used the verse from that set on the front of my card.

DCWV Linen Closet papers (these have been around for awhile also)
Spellbinders Marvelous Squares  (this is my NEW item)
Lace was a find while on vacation

I hope you have a chance to play along with their challenge.

It is quite the amazing morning, woke up to 51 degrees and it is suppose to get up into the high 60's today!!!!
Hope your weekend is starting off good,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by,

Still trying to catch up around here after being gone for a week, it seems it takes about the same time for me to catch up on things as I was gone.

We are suppose to reach the 40's today so I think all our snow will be gone, today or tomorrow all our lights outside will be put away.  So thankful we usually have some above freezing days to put all our outside decorations away.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and for your comments it is much apprecaited!

My Father

I lost my Father on December 26th.  He was a great Man, Husband, Father and Friend.  He was well liked by whomever came in contact with him, by the amount of people at his funeral he touched many peoples lives.  There is once again an empty place in my heart, I have now lost both parents.

I started off this blog with a picture of my Dad opening a quilt I had made him, so I thought I would just add that picture again.

I will start posting cards again tomorrow, I just thought I would share with you why I have been away for so long.
